Tonzio vs Pulseway: which approach fits your IT team?
Compare product scope, endpoint operations, support workflows and buying fit. Tonzio and Pulseway overlap in IT operations, but they are not interchangeable.
The short answer.
Choose Tonzio when you want a Windows-first workspace joining Helpdesk, endpoint visibility, network experience, website access restrictions and Outlook signature management with simple public pricing. Choose Pulseway when you need mobile-first administration, multi-platform monitoring, automated patching, remote control or broad RMM automation.
| Area | Tonzio | Pulseway | Buying implication |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary focus | Everyday IT operations for organisations and IT providers managing Windows workplaces. | A remote monitoring and management platform designed for IT departments and MSPs, with strong mobile administration and remote remediation. | Start with your required operating model, not a raw feature count. |
| Endpoint visibility | Windows device, component, application, monitor, performance and posture context. | Pulseway describes monitoring for Windows, Mac and Linux systems as well as servers, networks and mobile devices. | Pulseway is the stronger candidate when broader device administration is mandatory. |
| Microsoft directory requirement | No Microsoft domain or Active Directory required. Install the Windows agent with administrator permission, then link by pairing code, account token or a pre-linked installer. Workgroup and directory-joined PCs can both be managed. | Pulseway documents direct MSI and subnet-discovery deployment. Active Directory discovery is an additional option when systems already use Active Directory. | None of these products requires on-premises Active Directory for ordinary agent deployment. Compare the available direct and bulk rollout methods instead. |
| Patching and remote control | Tonzio is not positioned as a patch-management or remote-desktop replacement. | Pulseway publicly offers OS and third-party patching, built-in remote control, scripting and automation workflows. | Keep or select a broader RMM when those controls are core requirements. |
| Service workflow | Helpdesk email, tickets, service deadlines, event-created work and linked device context. | Pulseway integrates with Pulseway PSA and third-party ticketing products; its PSA can be managed from the RMM console and mobile app. | Check whether you need a focused Helpdesk or a wider service/business-management suite. |
| Distinct Tonzio scope | Endpoint-originated network experience, selected website access restrictions and centrally managed Outlook signatures in the same subscription. | Review Pulseway’s current products and integrations for these specific workflows. | Validate the exact workflow in a trial; similar category labels do not guarantee the same implementation. |
| Buying model | Public pricing starts at $29 monthly with 10 active devices and one active user; graduated capacity pricing applies. | Pulseway’s current public buying path asks for environment requirements or a demo before providing the applicable price. | Model the total cost using your device, technician and add-on requirements. |
When Tonzio is the better fit.
Tonzio is intentionally focused on common workplace IT jobs and evidence. It can complement existing security, patching or remote-access products rather than forcing a wholesale replacement.
Everyday support
Keep requests, operational events, service deadlines and device context close together.

Measure latency, jitter and packet loss from Windows endpoints and persistent site sentinels.
Explore this capabilityVisible workplace controls
Manage supported Outlook signatures and selected website restrictions alongside device context.
Explore this capabilityWhen Pulseway deserves the shortlist.
Shortlist Pulseway when technicians must monitor and remediate systems from mobile devices, or when patching, remote control and RMM automation are essential. That operating model is broader than Tonzio’s present focus.
Test the decision with real workflows.
Use the same devices, support scenarios and reporting needs in both evaluations. Confirm deployment effort, required add-ons, data retention and the actions technicians can complete without another tool.
- Test one real endpoint problem from alert to resolution
- Confirm patching, remote-control and platform coverage
- Model the cost at your actual device and technician counts
- Verify reporting, retention, API and integration requirements
Important scope note
This is a buyer’s comparison, not a claim that the products have identical features. Tonzio does not currently present itself as a full UEM, PSA, patch-management, remote-control, EDR or backup replacement.

Does Tonzio require Active Directory or a Microsoft domain?
No. Tonzio can manage standalone workgroup and directory-joined Windows devices. Active Directory, a domain controller, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune and MDM are not prerequisites. Administrator permission is required to install the Windows agent.
Is Tonzio a direct replacement for Pulseway?
Not in every environment. Tonzio overlaps in endpoint visibility, monitoring and support operations, but teams requiring the broader controls described above should keep Pulseway or another specialist platform on the shortlist.
Can Tonzio complement an existing RMM?
Yes. A team may use Tonzio for its Helpdesk, workplace controls, endpoint-originated network evidence or reporting while retaining another product for patching, remote control or security operations.
Which product is less expensive?
That depends on device counts, technician counts, product editions and add-ons. Tonzio publishes its current capacity model on the pricing page; compare a current Pulseway quote or published plan against the same operating requirements.
How should we evaluate both products?
Run a time-boxed trial using representative devices and one real support workflow. Score deployment, daily usability, reporting, required integrations and total cost rather than counting features in isolation.
